Melons are defined as having fleshy fruit. The rind on the cat’s appears to be that of a lime. Limes do not have fleshy fruit, and are therefore not melons. This caption is misleading.
@Pinao212:
Wait…what? A lime rind (skin…thing) would in no way fit on a fully grown cat’s head. The “fleshy” part of the melon was removed before placing the MELON rind over the cat’s head. The rind may look similar to a lime, but it’s not. It’s a melon.
I beg to differ. There is no object with which the size of the cat’s head can be compared besides the fruit. Many domesticated cats are small, and as a result have small heads, which could fit inside of a lime, especially one that has multiple cuts along the sides as this one does, as that allows for further expansion of the rind. And of course the fleshy part would be removed from a melon, just as the juicy part was removed from this lime.
Pomelo or otherwise, the object on this cat’s head is in fact a helmet. That it is not approved by The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (or whomever you turn to for you helmet safety standards), does not change the fact that this head covering meets the basic dictionary requirements to be a helmet – especially seeing as all an object needs to do to be qualified as such is to RESEMBLE a traditional helmet in shape or positioning.
The fact that it resembles a helmet doesn’t exactly make it one. If you were to wear something resembling shoes but were in fact, say banana peels, you would not be allowed into a “no shirt, no shoes, no service” establishment. I say banana peels because they fit the dictionary definition of shoe and are also produce waste product.
The fault is not, in fact, that he has misdefined the word helmet, but that his definition is self-referencing. This is unacceptable, and his definition must therefore be thrown out. I suggest the new definition “something you put on your head for protection”. Since the kitten looks very much like it is going to war, I am going to assume it is using the pomelo for protection which, it follows, would mean the fruit is a helmet.
Cats don’t go to war (It’s not an average cat activity). Have you seen the “Soldiers” one? We established this already. Also, a cat doesn’t have the concept of protective gear, so this isn’t for use as a helmet. More accurate terms would be “forcibly worn hat” or “produce wate product garment.”
bambis mom, maybe i did missspell some words. I cannot help it that i have very bad spelling. and maybe i misspelled my volcabulary wring on purpose. you might never know. And i am a girl.
I would not like a fruit stuck on my head. Nor would I like a vegetable stuck to my head. I would, however, enjoy having Helena Bonham Carter stuck to my head. She is an amazing actress despite the fact that she is not particularly fond of cats.

I second that. It’s not really an original.

sheep, every word beginning with “s” that you have typed is misspelled (besides “sheep”)

@bambi’s mom, sheep did actually spell “stuck” correctly once (and used it in the correct way) he/she however did also misspell “cause”

The rind is that of a lime. If you look closely you will see the pockets of zest on the skin.
