While cows and cats are not the same animal, they are related. Both are vertebrates, both are mammals, and they both belong to the superorder Laurasiatheria. Here, however, the difference appears, as cats belong to the Carnivora order, but cows belong to Artiodactyla.

This reminds me of a T-shirt I used to have. It had a picture of a cow on it. Underneath the cow was the word “DOG”, which was crossed out and replaced with the word “CAT”.
this is a cow instead of a cat, perhaps this site should be named average cows? Keep up with the fantastic postings. On a related note I love Harry Potter as well as twilight!!!
I am actually pretty disappointed in this submission. This site is AverageCATS, not AverageCOWS. If you’re going to make a “this is not a” post, please post a black and white cat with the caption “This is not a cow” to keep with the theme of AverageCats.
@ Jenna
If you want to correct other people’s French, please use the correct pronouns and demonstratives. It would actually be “C’est une vache” (”Ceci est une vache”) and not “Elle est une vache”, unless you are referring to a girl and calling her a cow, in which case ‘une’ would be unnecessary.
Why are you all discussing French? The French suck. The reason their flag is ordered the way it is is so that they can rip off the two sides and hang just the white part.
What if we’re all French? What if there’s a Frenchman (or -woman) lurking amongst us, now afraid of the perusers of this site as Francophobes bent on the destruction of all things French? What if we all had to keep eating Freedom Fries, or worse yet, German hot potato salad?
Since cow.. or une vache, is a femine word…
It would actually be acceptable, and since it French there is no “it” or neutral way or referring to things.
Pourquoi quelques personnes étant négatif sont-elles au sujet du Français ? Je peux dire probablement quelques mots au sujet de votre nationalité pour être parfaitement honnête.

Ce n’est pas un chat.
The verb goes in between ne and pas.
Mais, elle est une vache.

Ceci n’est pas un chat.
Look up the Wikipedia entry on Magritte’s ‘The Treachery of Images’ for some explanation behind the amusing nature of that comment.
By his standards, this also ins’t a cow. It’s not even a picture of a cow.

I refer to my friends’ black and white cats as the cow kitties, because they don’t have enough black to be tuxedo cats.
