Most battery-powered laser pointers are not strong enough to vaporize wood. There’s no way a cat could possibly power a laser that was big enough to cut a hole through that door.
Which is all assuming that the door didn’t catch on fire first. To which end, I conclude that this hole was not from a laser at all!
Despite being most likely not involved in the creation of the hole in the door, the cat shown probably makes use of such for an easy access point in and out of the room to which the door leads. Many cats will enter through such apertures simply because they can, and because they are interested in exploring new places which may have otherwise been off-limits to them.
