You see, John Doe, there is a difference between things that are true in fiction and things that are true in real life. In real life, cats cannot by themselves, utilize public transportation. Granted, they may be carried by a human, but that is the extent to which they can ride buses and trains.
Did anyone else see the title of the map? Dart Bus Route Map? That sounds like a person who just barely missed getting hit by a bus while chasing the schedule in the wind. Dart… Bus… Route… Map… *pass out.
Cats can in fact ride public transportation, it doesn’t take much skill… you just get in when the door opens, and wait. Perhaps they are just afraid of the loud gas-burning, vibrating monstrosities called busses, or just don’t care what the stupid humans do for what seems to a cat like no purpose at all?
Cats may not know what city they live in by name; but when lost, they can navigate their way back home, implying that yes they can -care- what city they live in, if they are not currently in the city where they normally get fed and cared for. Just because a cat may not care enough about it’s owner to learn stupid human tricks like names and maps doesn’t mean it doesn’t comprehend anything. Such arrogance, people.
Now, cats reading maps? that’s a different story… not happening. ;P
Furthermore, a cat would find it quite difficult to pull the rope for his or her stop; thus making it near impossible for one to use public transit.

Cats can’t even read maps. They have no way to correlate a 2d image with locations in the real world.

Actually, there are a few cats that have ridden buses over the years. Do a google search for “Cat rides bus” and you will see for yourself.

Ever hear of Casper, the cat who rode the same bus for 4 years?

Try convincing me that this cat didn’t care about the bus.

Cats like to lay on paper because it crunches. This has nothing to do with buses, routes, or maps.

Your site was tweeted by a friend the other day. Decided I’d give it a look. Best decision ever.
