Snow Leopard

Snow leopards are a completely different species. The most striking difference between domestic cats and snow leopards is the significant size difference.

Cats cannot run a computer. They are not even operating systems. Cats are not even software.

Okay, so LOL cats isn’t stated the captions literally, it’s a joke. They are funny because (for the most part) that’s what it seems like. That’s why they are funny. I honestly do not believe that a cat has laser eyes, but it is humorous to make a silly comment about it. Having said that, get a sense of humor and relax.

It is an Egyptian mau, aged 7 months. (He’s my cat, that’s how I know.)

  12. FoxtrotZero says:

The problem with the statement above is that Snow Leapords and Egyptian Maus ARE arguably in the same species, both belonging to the feline family.

The difference being that the two types of cats are entirely different breeds, but the two are indeed related.

This is, however, debatable, depending on one’s interpretation of the word “Species”.

I don’t know about you guys, but these are way better than Lolcats. Seriously, I much prefer this deadpan, “Cat’s do not understand/cannot ____” humor to “I haz a money.”

“The most significant difference” for me as a human is that snow leopords eat humans.

I would have said Ocicat or Bengal, though Bengals have more prominent leopard-like spots rather then cheeta/ocelot-like spots. But being that its already confirmed mau, my observations are rather null & void :)

Just because they’re different species doesn’t mean they’re not related. Sure not as closely as the original LOLcats caption indicates…but geez man.

This cat is not amused by the recaptioning courtesy of Captain Bringdown and the Buzz Kill Brigade.

Unless I’m mistaken, domestic kitties purr on inspiration and expiration, the big cats only on expiration. I’ve not tried scratching a big cat behind the ears to confirm this.

I have to say that they both are in the cat or feline family, and no they are not related, such as in the same litter or even same species, but they are somewhat ‘related’. Just like I am a human, and so is a ‘real’ African person, so we are ‘related’ in a small way, but not family…..hope that clears this up some!

  26. OfficialPro says:

Anyone who thinks species is a ‘fixed’ definition with no variance allowed for human error in definition/classification is seriously mistaken.

Even biologists can’t agree on where species boundaries always lie. You have coyotes with ‘wolf dna’ in the northeast. You have domestic cats giving birth to half-bobcats. You have Pumapards, ligers, leopons, etc. You could probably cross a snow leopard with a house cat (in vitro fertilization) and have something come out.

So yeah the entire caption is massive fail.
