A photo can say a thousand words; It’s a memory, good or bad, put into physical form.
If this cat were ever to come across this picture whilst browsing the Internet I’m sure he would most certainly be reminded of harsher days and thus be saddened.
However I needn’t worry; such a thing is unlikely since said cats are not self-aware let alone physically and mentally capable to surf the world wide web.
My dad had a cat that loved to swim. He used to take him to the beach and when they were gonna go home he had to pull him out of the lake. And he slept in his car on the way there. Strange cat, that.

they just don’t like the sensation of getting wet x)
so once this kitty got over the shock of landing inside water
he/she probably had a good time
