Actually, a cat could probably take a picture if the camera were somehow held down so it was stable, and it was turned on, and the cat stepped on the button. Just sayin’.
In Seattle, where I live, there’s a cat whose owners attached a camera set to go off once every three minutes to his collar. He just roams around, and at the end of the day they see if there are any good pictures. They had a gallery a while back, and it was in the newspaper. Pretty cool.
Although, that is still unknowingly taking a picture.
This cat could probably knock the camera off the surface on which both are sitting. It would not be deliberate, but it would still be bad for the camera. Do not trust cats around electronics.
Cats can take pictures, because if accidentally they press a button they could take a picture, but cats seriously cant be professional photographers, that will be something surprising
Even if cats could conceivably take pictures on a regular basis, they have no sense of composition, lighting or interesting subject matter. They would not make good photographers even if they could become one.
It’s probably also safe to say that this cat is not an amateur photographer, either. I would not pay a cat to take photographs. I’m not even sure what a cat would take photographs of, if it could…
Cats like to toy with things then eat them, not take their portrait. So that camera is merely taking up valuable real estate on his or her plush sun spot.

Humans have a great deal of superstition surrounding black cats. This cat is black. This cat will not cause bad luck. Luck does not exist.
