A dishwasher will wash your cat, as will a cat lick clean your dishes. Neither outcome will be particularly pretty. It’s best to both let your cat clean itself and leave the dishwasher for dishes only.
Im sure the dishwasher was not turned on while the cat was in it. Most pet owners like to keep their pets around, not drown them. The owner probably just thought it was his/her cat climbed into the dishwasher. Hence, photo.
