This is an example of a predator prey relationship. This cat is domesticated, and will more than likely be unable to catch the rabbit.

Domesticated cats are actually quite good at catching rabbits. I had a cat that caught at least 4 rabbits and then had babies that night.

Actually domesticated rabbits and cats can live together quite harmoniously. Though most experts do not recommend leaving them together unattended, mostly because cats play much more roughly than rabbits.

Rabbits are made of meat, which cats as a rule enjoy eating.

I once had a domesticated cat who caught a juvenile/infant rabbit that was from a warren in our back yard. He had it alive and stunned and brought it into the house and scared my mom half to death with bringing in a rabbit and then having the rabbit be dropped at her feet still alive.

My brother examined it and made sure it wasn’t permanently crippled or anything before letting it go again while the cat was locked inside.

Two days later there was a fully grown rabbit partially disemboweled on our back steps. My mom almost tripped and killed herself on the remains.

This cat is chasing the rabbit. This rabbit is running away. This is quite average, seeing as the cat is a predator and the rabbit is its prey.

We had a house rabbit loose in our house with 3 cats. The rabbit was dominant and the cats left her alone most of the time. They didn’t want to end up on the losing end of the fight. This was a dwarf rabbit and regular to large size cats! The rabbit lived to be 10 years old. Even when she was blind at the end, they did not mess with her much! The cats were well fed indoor cats who used to be outside feral cats. Maybe they realized they would end up outside again if they messed with the rabbit.

Domesticated cats are actually the best hunters because they hunt for fun and not for the dire need for food

I have a cat named savage that looks suspiciously like this cat; it’s pretty much dead on.
